Madonna Enlists Riding Coach Daisy Trayford

EXMOOR event rider Daisy Trayford is jetting off to America tomorrow to coach her pop star pupil Madonna during the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

The 27-year-old from Timberscombe has built up a solid relationship with the singer after she sold her two horses from Exmoor Eventing – a horse sales business she runs with her husband Richard.

“We were contacted by Madonna’s agent two years ago to source some horses and it has spiralled from there,” says Daisy who has been teaching and riding out with her ever since. “Teaching isn’t really my thing. I’ve always been a rider and I produce horses to sell – this is my love but, when I have the time, I like to help those who want to be a better rider. Madonna and I just clicked.”

Daisy describes how sourcing the right horse for the pop star was not easy.

“She wanted something nicely schooled and quiet, but she also likes to let the handbrake off, which does not always go hand-in-hand.

“So we needed to find her a quiet horse with ability and a brain, too.”…
