Peter Green Saves The Day in Bluemont, VA
On January 12, event rider Peter Green added ‘hero’ to his resumé as he saved a dressage and hunter/jumper barn in Bluemont, VA from burning to the ground.
At the same time, Peter was driving past the farm. According to Terry, he saw the tower of smoke and pulled in the driveway to help with the fire.
The blaze started at about 2:00 pm when a Polaris Ranger parked about two feet from the barn erupted into flames. Barn owner Terry Smith said that the vehicle was turned off at the time, and no one is quite sure why it caught fire. The flames from the fire shot feet into the air, and send a black cloud of smoke billowing into the sky. Then, the unthinkable happened: the fire spread to the barn….
