Two Weekends of Equestrian Fun at Fork Farm
Tuesday, March 31, 2009 β For the next two weeks, Stanly County, and Norwood in particular, will be filled with equestrian enthusiasts and competitors from around the country.
Outdoor Heritage Days kicks off Thursday at the Fork Farm in Norwood. The event runs through Sunday and continues April 10-12 with the Fork Horse Trials.
International eventing athletes, including Pan American, Olympic and World Games medal winners, are expected to participate. Outdoor Heritage Days includes the FEI International Three Star event and the Gold Cup event.
βThe event is a wonderful opportunity for Stanly County to showcase the outdoor lifestyle,β said Chris Lambert, director of the Stanly County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Due to current economic conditions, the events have been scaled back some, with a limit of 275 entries for the Outdoor Heritage competition and 250 for the Horse Trials…
