Quest to Find Future Leaders

EQUESTRIAN Victoria’s Young Rider of the Year competition began in 1986 to find the next young ambassador for showing, showjumping, dressage and eventing.

The competition has produced some excellent people across the sport.

Jamie Page and Sally Miller, show horse winners, and Fleur Dawkins in dressage are all sports administrators.

Stephen Lamb, a winner in showjumping, is the current chef de equip for the Olympic showjumping section.

Matt Williams another showjumping winner, competed for Australia at the Beijing Olympic Games; Adam Wootten competed successfully in America; Jamie Kermond rode for Australia at the World Equestrian Games and Becky Allen rode on the Australian team to New Zealand earlier this year…
