Will Faudree and Jennifer Mosing’s Pawlow In Fifth Place At Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials in the U.K.

The Blenheim Palace International horse Trials is in its 19th year of running and is now firmly established in the eventing calendar with the world’s best riders as well as the thousands of spectators who come each year to watch the event.

Dressage, the first phase of the competition in which a series of pre-set movements are judged subjectively, takes place all day on Thursday and Friday against the magnificent backdrop of Blenheim Palace. Will Faudree and Jennifer Mosing’s Pawlow, affectionately known as Ernie P. Mosing, finished in eighth place with 46.5 penalty points. Sandy Phillips assisted in the warm-up with the duo before they entered the competition arena.

Faudree and Pawlow moved up to fifth place with just 4.4 time penalty points after their cross country run. The pair jumped clean over every obstacle on the challenging course that was run clockwise for the first time in the event’s history.

Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials was blessed with blue skies and sunshine for the first day of cross country. Course designer Eric Winter was delighted with how the course rode. “Problems have been sporadic. The course has caused people to fault through forcing people to take direct routes, but it has been a safe and successful cross country day which is ultimately what we are aiming for in this sport.”
“The footing was fantastic,” he said. “Knowing that the weather was going to be on our side this year really helped in the ground preparation. We started watering the course on Monday and spiked it on Friday, following it round with the bowser.”

It remains tight at the top of the leaderboard – there are just 4.6 penalties separating the top three combinations, with only 1.1 penalties between Lucy and Emily at the top.

About Will Faudree
Will Faudree was born on October 4, 1981 in Midland Texas. He grew up on a cattle ranch, learning to ride at a very young age. When he was about thirteen he became interested in eventing, and started to compete. After graduating high school, Will moved to Pennsylvania to ride and train with Phillip Dutton. In 2003 Will set out on his own and moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina with his dog, Kemper, where Gavilan Farm is currently based. Will also competed in the Pan American Games that year. The team won a gold medal. The following year, Will was named the traveling reserve for the Athens Olympic Team. Unfortunately when Will returned home from the games, he found his house and barn had been struck by lightning and burnt down. Luckily no horses were on the property at the time, but the damage was too great. Will had to find a new farm and replace almost all of his personal belongings as well as his horse equipment. With the help of Will’s family and close friends, Will was able to put things back together and moved into his current house and barn in January of 2005.

With the continued support of friends and family, Will’s career as an Equestrian continues to grow. He represented the United States once again by riding on the US team at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, and is working towards riding for the US Team in future international competitions.
